Residential Waste & Recycling

In an effort to keep our City clean and comply with Federal and State regulations, the City of Lincoln voted to require trash pickup for residential customers and entered into an agreement with Area Disposal Inc for waste hauling.  This agreement lowered monthly bills for paying customers and provided curb side pickup for recycling.

When does the agreement begin and end?
The franchise agreement is exclusive with Area Disposal. It will commence on March 1, 2018 and shall expire on February 28, 2021. The City shall have the right to extend the agreement for (2) additional (1) year periods by expressing interest in writing to Area Disposal at least 180 days prior to the expiration date of the then current term.
