The City of Lincoln Public Hearing – Taxi Cab License met in the Council Chambers on Monday, April 7, 2014. 

 

City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach called the roll call.  There were seven Aldermen present (Alderman Anderson, Alderman Bauer, Alderman Hoinacki, Alderman Horn, Alderman Neitzel, Alderman O’Donohue, and Alderman Tibbs), one seat vacant and none absent. Also present were Fire Chief Miller, Safety and Building Officer Mr. Lebegue, Street Superintendent Mr. Landers, and Police Chief Greenslate.  Also present were Mayor Snyder, City Treasurer Mr. Conzo, City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach, City Attorney Mr. Blinn Bates, City Administrator Ms. McLaughlin and Recording Secretary Mrs. Riggs.

 

Mayor Snyder called the Public Hearing – Taxi Cab License by Alpha Omega Transit to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

Jake Sexton, Executive Director of Community Action was present to inform the City Council what they do.  Community Action is there to meet the senior citizen’s needs.  They are currently providing service to take senior citizens to doctor appointments and other medical appointments.  Community Action did not want to discourage another company from coming in. Community Action is working with Health Alliance to accept insurance but currently accept Medicare and Medicaid.    Community Action will continue to operate whether or not Alpha & Omega are here.  Their hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.  Community Action is funded through grants and their sole position is to help the people of Logan County. 

 

Alpha Omega Transit was not present. 

 

Alderman Neitzel moved and Alderman Anderson seconded it.  City Clerk Mrs. Gehlbach called the roll call.  There were seven yeas (Alderman Anderson, Alderman Bauer, Alderman Hoinacki, Alderman Horn, Alderman Neitzel, Alderman O’Donohue, and Alderman Tibbs), one seat vacant and none absent; motion carried.

 

The hearing was closed at 7:12 p.m.
