The City of Lincoln, State of Illinois, and County of Logan have partnered to redevelop Fifth Street Road west of Lincoln Parkway (Old Route 66) to the Interstate overpass. Not only will this improve the roadway itself, but was to correct water drainage along the roadway itself from neighboring developments.
Recently, the City Council updated its Rules of Order in order to standardize the decorum and practices used when addressing City of Lincoln Boards and Commission. Many of these rules were already practiced but never adopted by the Council in a vote. These rules are, in no way, an attempt to keep the public from engaging in public comment, but rather an attempt to allow more voices to be heard. These adopted rules can be found by accessing the link below.
On March 6th and 7th, 2015, the City of Lincoln Council Members and staff participated in a strategic planning retreat facilitated by the Center for Governmental Studies (CGS) at Northern Illinois University (NIU). The purpose of the retreat was to define and address strategic issues impacting the current environment in which Lincoln operates. The first day of the retreat was used to present current data trends in Lincoln that provided a foundation for the second day’s planning. At that time, participants heard the results of a community satisfaction survey and demographic trends. The second day of the retreat focused on developing a vision and mission for the City of Lincoln and identifying the key strategic areas for future planning.

The City of Lincoln is pleased to announce it has redesigned its municipal website and will be transitioning to a new domain name.
The new website (www.lincolnil.gov) incorporates a simple, straightforward approach that is adaptable to mobile devices such as a smart phone or a tablet. There are several new features including a new search tool that makes it easier to find the information a website visitor may be looking for right at the top of the page. There is a new, streamlined menu structure that breaks down the city into the areas where you can find information including an "I want to..." link. The menu also hovers at the top while you scroll down making it easy to switch to another page.
